i've already tried that, but it never saves it :(
so is it just me doing it wrong, or isn't it possible to change?

When save the new setting, the "Run As" window will popup for confirm, and you must UNCHECK the box of "Protect my computer and data ......", and then click OK.

Did it happen you miss to do so ? (then the new password will not be saved)

Please advise more detail on:

1. OS used.
2. Version of the UltraVNC, and does it run as service, or application.
3. Have you installed any old version or any VNC clone on that system before?
4. Were you using an Admin. account to to the job?
