Black screen with VNCServer on Win2000 Pro SP4

Post by Niko »

I get black only screens when I connect.
All the previous answers I read about black screens refers to WinXP, but my VNCServer is on a Win2000 Pro SP4 machine, so no FUS and no RDP.

Viewer runs on WinXP Pro SP1; I can connect, it accepts login and password but then... black screen.

Both server and viewer are RC19.5

does the server machine have a screen saver of blank screen on it? I have heard people having issues connecting with this enabled.

I have only tested this with VM W2Kpro but not SP4 on 19.4 and it works...

I guess did it work before is the question and if yes is the answer roll back and try again and see if it still works. If it does.. try out the RC_19_6 version... ?

If strange things happen....

1) no plugin/ activate loopback and connect with a local viewer
**we exclude all network issue's
2) if possible, try to connect from different viewer PC, to see if the effect is the same
3) XP SP1 and second network for internet, activate an internal firewall on the no internet interface.. you never know.

Thanks for reply.

No screensaver neither powersafe on server machine.
No firewall problem, because I rolled back to RC18 and everything works OK.

I'll try ASAP with RC19.7... stay tuned :)
