Manage Clients

Post by Jpearl01 »

Hello all,
New to Ultra VNC and used to using a Bomgar box at work. I'm wondering if there is a way to manage my clients with ultra VNC. For example a list of clients that I normally connect to so I can jump right in. Bomgar calls this "Pinning".

Any suggestion would be appreciated!

One very simply way is to just create a desktop shortcut/icon for each connection.

The command line for each icon would read like "vncviewer.exe hostname"

where "hostname" is the local name for the target machine, or you could use its IP address. This assumes no VNC repeaters and no firewalls.

A couple of projects I've liked for managing multiple servers in a more point-and-click fashion are iTalc and mRemote (or mRemoteNG). Both do the job. There are lots of others, including several who post in the "VNC Related" forum here....

Even simpler than all the above, the VNCViewer usually remembers several recently used targets in its pulldown menu. You might not have to do anything at all...
