Really?

I posted a couple of messages... one regarding merging my latest stable version with wherever you guys are up to and the other with my Google Code User email... then I went to Oz for a month.

Yeah, what I said and then deleted was that we really need to move to something other than phpBB as the forum software. This stuff is too flaky. (People are constantly complaining they're not getting e-mail alerts, and the search / new posts function breaks periodically.)

But maybe those are the messages supercoe is talking about, and nothing was lost; it's not my concern, which is why I censored my earlier post...

Well, I hope you two crazy kids get in touch somehow.

Sorry Rat I forgot to add you, should be good now.

B, check your PM for a good time. :P

I can't wait for Oliver to switch us to PHPBB3 but there is a lot of work to do there. Can't say that I've ever had a problem with the forum besides search going down.

Kool,

I look forward to checking out the code and branching a merged version with my stuff.

Thanks,

Reportedly the mail feature hardly works at all; JDaus is notably affected by this. (Does it have to be phpBB going forward? Surely there's a better choice?)

Oh come on, wouldn't you rather blame Australia?? :P

phpBB3 is a big leap from v2, Oliver apparently has a lot of mods on this forum to give it v3 like features. Maybe that is what causes the problems?

Could also be server load, I can't wait for the new server to get up and running, it's a fast one.

Edit: splelelling

PS. vBulletin is better but $$

Okay, agreed, Australia and undersea cables take the hit.

I don't know much about forum software, but out of curiosity I went to forummatrix.org and ran the wizard there.
Okay. You want a threaded Forum that is Free and Open Source with which you can assign users to multiple groups and with support to attach files and which stores data in MySQL or Postgres or SQLite or Textfiles.

The following 10 Forums match your criteria:

Advanced Electron Forum, Beehive Forum, FUDforum, mwForum, MyBB, NextBBS, Phorum, TikiWiki CMS-Groupware, Vistix and Yazd
For some reason phpBB didn't make that cut, though it's in their database.

Ah, I see, it's because I specified "threaded" and phpBB stays "flat". I probably misinterpreted the term; I guess nobody really likes the "threaded" tree model where posts are indented further and further in.

Okay. You want a <b>flat</b> Forum that is Free and Open Source with which you can assign users to multiple groups and with support to attach files and which stores data in MySQL or Postgres or SQLite or Textfiles.

The following 21 Forums match your criteria:

Advanced Electron Forum, Beehive Forum, E-Blah, ForumLogic, FUDforum, JForum, mvnForum, mwForum, MyBB, NextBBS, Phorum, phpBB, SMF, TairoBB, TikiWiki CMS-Groupware, Unclassified NewsBoard, Vanilla, Viscacha, XMB, YaBB and Yazd
Seems like the only ones with 2010 releases are FUDforum and CMSGroupware. They're both in PHP.

Man, I love these comparison sites.

I use Advanced Electron Forum... quite nice really

Here's an example of it embedded in a website I'm currently setting up for a new product of mine:

http://www.vushield.com/forums/

ps. I'd also like to say that I think InnoSetup (+ InnoTool) is a better installer than InstallJammer. Its ability to allow custom Pascal scripts makes it far more powerful. (try downloading and installing the vuShield beta :) and see it create a firewall rule using some Pascal code in the installer script)

Hey, just thought I would post again saying that I'm not dead, just dormant! I have been coding a few programs and been getting into _GUICtrlListView_Create() and have a few code snippets that could be included. I see Rat is now added on GoogleCode. :)

what the whole country :D ... wouldn't it be better just to blame the occupants (one / some / all) rather than the whole continent ???

anyway, from my perspective, you guys are all on the other side of things, and all upside down / back-to-front :P

perhaps it was supercoe sabotaging my scprompt thread :P ... but several people have reported not getting notifications on that thread ... i have no issues getting notifications on other threads ... just that one ... it sounds more like sabotage when i say it out loud ... LOL

At least our toilets don't flush bassackwards. :P

Of course if was sabotage, why do you think I wanted to be a mod? :P

It probably has to do with how many posts are in that thread, maybe it's time for you to move into a subforum?

Our Cyclones, (Hurricanes to you) rotate backwards, but Coriolis force doesn't affect flush rotation across the dimensions of a toilet bowl... too many perturbations too little force.

... or rather your Hurricanes rotate backwards

This very much reminds me of a The West Wing episode segment about the world map. Memorable, particularly for the flip in the final few seconds.

Watch it while you can -- the idiots at the network already took down at least one other copy. :(

Actually, I'm on the east coast of the US, so supercoe just exists inside MY computer. :) Which might explain a few things.

This whole "midwest" thing is, I'm sure, just as mythical as that whole "Eurasia" or wherever the heck Australia is supposed to be... Yeah, right, a big island, that's a country, with hardly anyone in most of it. Sure...

;)

And would you guys stop sending actors to take over all our TV shows and movies please? It's kind of annoying... :)

Just because I can't help myself...

I just have to note that the only decent flat world map is the Winkel-Tripel projection!
