Hello,
I recently installed Hamachi, in combination with UltraVNC. However, I only intend to use this on my local network- for accessing computers on different floors, etc. I have not forwarded any ports on my router. Is this secure? I am using MS logon for VNC authentication.
Thanks

security question
Re: security question
And you use "private IPs" (192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x, 172.16.x.x.) in your LAN?
If yes: Then no one from outside can access your LAN. However, Clients on your Hamachi VNC can access any other Hamachi Client on that Hamachi network segmentLocally you type in the LAN-IP (f. ex. 192.168.1.12), the network name of the PC (f. ex. PC12 - if your PC or router can resolve this network name to the IP 192.168.1.12) or the Hamachi IP (f. ex. 5.63.150.200) of any PC of your LAN to get access.
Keep port 5800 and 5900 on your router closed - no forwarding.
This should be save. Correct me when I'm wrong!
