Invisible apps :-(

Post by softfoot »

Hi, I'm running 1.0.8.2 after an upgrade from 1.0.5 or 6.

The reason for the upgrade to 1.0.8.2 was because I found that portableapps.exe was invisible via VNC if I plugged the USB stick into the remote machine. If I plugged a real screen into the remote machine (it's only under my desk) then it was visible on the physical machine and invisible via VNC!

Upgrading to 1.0.8.2 (with the video hook driver) solved the problem (and significantly improved performance!) :-)

However, if I run a normal windows app called PVRX2 (part of the GBPVR suite) I see the border but not the contents :-( Again, on the visible screen it is displayed OK.

I didnt have this problem on the older release.

Turning off the video hook driver brings back the window contents - but of course at reduced performance :-(

Any help welcom
TIA
Dave

I have the same problem of invisible apps.
1.0.8.2 (video driver installed and active).
Dsm active.

Only Title Bar showing.

They include

(a) Aqua data studio v8 ( ok for v6.5 )
(b) Jdownloader 0.8.9

Disable driver, will show the inners(all)

Not sure why.

As I mentioned in
[topic=17083][/topic]
and others mentioned in
[topic=16369][/topic]

this seems to be a general (and older) problem with Java applications (and perhaps others).

UltraVNC server 0.8.2 is running as a service and "capture alpha-blending" already is enabled.

So far I tried only with IE 7 and 8, didn't try with Firefox or any other browser.

Would be great if anyone finds the reason for this behaviour and can offer a fix or a solution!

Regards
Arno

I tried with Alpha Blending Capture turned on - made no difference.

As far as I can see PVRX2.exe is not a java app - so that may not be the whole story.

Websites that use Java seem to work OK too.

I had this issue in the last versions of UltraVNC especially when runing JDownloader (currently: v0.9.579 [jdownloader.org]). At other Java-applications like "Shisen for Java v1.0 [UJ-Software] or Flatex Trader v1.1.9 there never was a problem. Now after updaing JAVA to Build 1.6.0_19-b04 the problem is gone.

Thank you for all your work on UltraVNC!

eByte

Sorry, the issue is still there - updating JAVA did not help.
