SC VNC - Connection failed - error reading protocl version

Post by sfortine »

we recently began having problems with our sc vnc setup. We compiled the sc vnc a couple of years ago (ultravnc win32 server sc 20.3, build mar 28 2005), and are using the ultravnc viewer 1.2.8. Everything has worked great for a couple of years.

We recently downloaded a new version of ultra vnc to connect to a mac, now we are no longer able to accept incoming connections from our sc vnc.exe, as soon as you double click a tech, we get the following error.

Connection failed - error reading protocol version.

We have tried uninstalling all versions of vnc, and still the problem persists. I am assuming it is an issue with the RFB protocol itself.

Any suggestions on where to go from here or how to roll back the rfb protocol? As is we are in a pickle

Thanks!!

Steve
