yet another cad problem

Post by btrash »

Hello Guys!

Yet another CAD problem :)

I use Windows7 64bit and ultravnc 1.0.8.2
UAC is disabled (and i cannot and also do not want to enable it)

If i send CAD during a remote control session, the taskmanager will appear instead of CAD.
If i press CAD on the lokal machine it works as expected.
And taskmanager also only appears pressing ctrl-shift-esc

Anyone else stuck on this problem ?

Thanks for reply

The way UVNC is designed, if you run the server as an application instead of as a service, it executes taskmgr.exe instead of actually sending CTRL-ALT-DEL. I'm assuming this is some sort of work around.

With the current version of UVNC (1.0.8.2) it is impossible to send CAD unless you enable UAC.

I don't know why this is, and it annoys me as well. I hope the devs find solutions to this eventually. Currently there seems to be no developmental discussion with the numerous CAD problems. They are currently focused on reinventing a broken wheel with 2.0, I guess.

yes

correct
UAC made only for safety like os.x, linux, not for annoying.
who removed UAC can use commercial product with SASlib fully controlled with UAC disabled, that you are your same level or risk like windows 2000/2003/xp
Currently there seems to be no developmental discussion with the numerous CAD problems.

sorry, don't agree with that.

I don't think that UAC makes that much security.
If you have a strict user/admin conzept it's much more secure.

Also if you get many msg it's a high chance that you ignore a real security thread and click on OK without checking out the excact dialog.

UAC is a nice try from microsoft the get rid of the admin-rights.

But these are different meanings.

So will there be a release which is working with disabled UAC ??
Vista is out since November 2007.

I really like ultraVNC but this is very annoying.
