Hello,
I think the tiltle should explain the problem
I updated my previous version of ultravnc SC to work with windows 7 using the following link: http://support1.uvnc.com/cgi-bin/upload4.pl
After that I installed the newest version of the ultravnc software 10 version 1.0.8.0 x64 using te following link: http://www.uvnc.com/download/1080/1080full.html
I installed the setup and put in the external ip adres and the port number. the port is forwarded in the router and added to to windows firewall as an exeption.
If a clients downloads the SC software there is no popup on the windows 7 computer on the server site. While the vncviewer in listening mode is running.
If i run the viewer software from a different windows xp machine that is behind the same router it is working even on windows 7. I dont't know if it works on vista.
I'm not using any other firewall en the windows version is x64
What else can i try?
Greetings, Piet Hoogland

Re: ultravnc viewer (listen mode) not working on windows 7
Hi man! I new in this forum too! I'll try to help u
Hm..., for the listen mode, you've to have a viewer and a server (the PC that you want to control/see)
There are two differents types of viewer:
· Listen mode without the plugin to protect
· Listen mode with a plugin to protect the connection
If you don't use a plugin, use the first one. Only you've to put in the shortcut this:
"E:\Program Files (x86)\UltraVNC\vncviewer.exe" -listen 522
The 522 is my port, but you've to put the port that you have opened.
Then create the executable to run in the server computer:
http://www.simply-postcode-lookup.com/S ... .htm#SCIII
Then run the executable in the server computer and nothing more.
After you run the executable in the viewer computer it will have appear a message warning you from the external connection.
I don't have Win7, but in the Ultra VNC web page, they say it's compatible with it, so...
I hope that helped you
P.S: Check if you're using a plugin, check the information in the "helpdesk.txt" file, check your ports, check if you have the last version of the UVNC, ...
Bye!
