Repeater misunderstanding?

Post by dbdataplus »

That must be it -- I'm running a very simple test.

I have two PC's and a Linux box. PC(a) and PC(b)

I have UVNC 1.0.8 installed on all.

From (a) I vnc to 192.168.0.10:1 and get the vnc server on Linux.
From (b) I vnc to 192.168.0.10:1 and get the vnc server on Linux.
From (a) I vnc to (b) and get the uvnc server on (b)

--- so far --- all exactly like I expect.

Then I run REPEATER on (b) with the intent that from (a) I'll vnc to (b) and check the proxy/repeater box and add 192.168.0.10:1 and therefore get the vnc server on Linux THROUGH (b).

All straight forward logic, right?

But all I get on (a) is the connection box stating negotiating protcol forever ... and nothing else.

1) the "log" on Repeater (b) shows that a BIND succeeded to port 5901 but nothing more after I try to connect to it
2) it doesn't matter if I have mode 2 checked or unchecked
3) doesn't mater if I have uvnc server installed on (b) or not.

The thing is ... I even read the documentation which is clear in most ways except it does assume a familiarity with the product I don't yet have.

If you want to connect to the Linux box via the repeater running on PC(b), you should run the viewer at PC(a) as below:
