i would suggest sending a CTRL ALT DEL and then pressing enter, its the same as sending Win + L

Win + L will lock the workstation so will CTRL ALT DEL and enter...

With te "Scroll Lock" (at viewer pc) enable, even those special key stroke will be sent to remote host, You should be able to send Win+L keys to lock the remote host in this way ... at least this works when the remote host is XP system.

Hi!
I'm using Windows XP Professional on both my two computers

YY, where is the "Scroll Lock" option you're talking about? I can't find it

However, I found two solutions, even if they're not exactly what I was looking for:

1) In the UltraVNC Server setting, there's the setting "When last client disconnects": if you choose "Logoff workstation", the computer is locked when when the viewer disconnects
However, this must be setted in the server settings, while I'd like to lock the computer from the viewer

2) You can go in Control Pannel -> User Accounts -> Select logon and logoff options and uncheck Use the welcome screen
In this way, when you send ctrl+alt+del from the viewer, it will open a screen which allows to lock the computer
However, I don't like solution, because I don't like, when I use the server, that, when I launch ctrl+alt+del, it opens that screen, while I want it to open the task manager

So, I don't know, but I'm still looking for a solution to send windows+l from the viewer to lock the server

Look for 'scroll lock' key on your keyboard (on US/English keyboard normally it's next to 'pause/break' or 'print screen') and press it, then try Win+L from vncviewer.

Many thanks! It works!!!

However, I'll be dumb, but I can't understand what "scroll lock" is used for!!!

I searched, but I couldn't understand it anyway, I read it was used years ago with old programs

The original function of 'Scroll Lock' is seldom be used nowaday, as it can be done with the Scroll Bar in Windows OS.

IF you want to know the orignal function of the 'Scroll Lock', you can find it with Excel.
Open a worksheet, and then press any of the four Arrow Keys with/without enable the 'Scroll Lock', you will see the difference.

As I said, since this key is seldom used now, so UVNC uses it as a toggle switch, to determine if several special key should be sent to remote host of used locally, These keys are: CNTL, Shift, Alt, Win .... etc

Of cource, the very special key CNTL-ALt-Delete cannot be sent to remote this way, thus UVNC viewer provides a button at its tool bar.

Thanks for your explanation! I got the difference with Excel, as you said
I didn't know it was used for special functions by UltraVNC, though
