W2k install not working V1.0.2 was OK

Post by marlboro »

Hi,

I've been using V1.02 for years with XP as client and W2K as server.

Saw the new 1.0.6.5 release and thought it best to upgrade.

After upgrading my W2K box I can no longer connect and the client screen does not update.

On looking at my W2K pc, explorer can no longer find pages.

I uninstalled V1.0.6.5 and explorer was fine again.

Then tried to go back to V1.02 but same explorer problem.
Removed \ORL\ reg keys but still no luck.

Any ideas...

Cheers

Have installed Tight VNC V1.3.10 server on Win2K and have UltraVNC 1.0.6.4 client on XP. Works fine.

Appears UltraVNC server no longer works with Win2K.

Regards
Brian

I have 1.0.6.5 working in Win/2K machines at home and at work, so it's not a general problem.

I'm not sure if this query was directed to me or to marlboro, but I am not using any encryption plugins. I run VNC either on local switched networks or through a VPN tunnel, so I'm not too worried about traffic being sniffed.
