Silent Sever Install

Post by smbober »

There seems to be an issue with the install (at least as documented). Here is what I have.

1. A full install of the latest version of uvnc which has been renamed to uvncs.exe.

2. A generated .inf file (generated using the documention) called uvncs.inf

3. I put the two files in the C:\IT\GCS\UVNCS\ dir and execute this command:

C:\IT\GCS\UVNCS\uvncs.exe /loadinf="C:\IT\GCS\UVNCS\uvncs.inf"

from the run prompt.

4. According to the documentation, this should execute a silent install of the server.

5. I have tried this command too:

C:\IT\GCS\UVNCS\uvncs.exe /no restart /very silent /loadinf="C:\IT\GCS\UVNCS\uvncs.inf"

No matter what I try I get the install window which is what I am trying to avoid.

So, /very silent doesn't work. But, /verysilent does (even though that the documentation clearly states /very silent). Please fix the documentation.
