Hello all,
i'm new to this project and have read a lot of post in this forum and have tested the SC functionality from the homepage (with Online Creator) and so on... This project is really great... But, a lot of things are inscrutable for me...
Is it possible to create a SC Version with this release similar to the created zip-executable from the Online Creator?
I would like to test the newer version, because i had problems with the online created with connections from vista os.
The second question is... I don't know how to handle with the mirror driver for better vista support. I have downloaded the drivers.zip but i don't know what to do with them .
In my case, i have an winxp os and on my system runs the listener and in my router is the port forwarded and so on... The other sites have sometimes the vista os installed.
Furthermore i had yesterday a problem with vista regarding the encryption plugin. connections from winxp to my system can connect but a connection with the same created zip-executable from an vista os couldn't be established. on my system i got the message relating to the dsmplugin... An test from an connect from vista os running in VirtualBox from Sun Microsystems was successful... Now i am a little bit confused :p.
In any case, my main objective is to create a SC executable similar to that one from the Homepage (Online Creator) but with good support and performance with vista os. Could someone give some tips and hints how to do this please. I would be happy bout this.

Re: How to create SC with this release
This is not possible.
The SC funcionality buildin in this release is actual for some other
developers who build a shell around winvnc that use the command line
to manage winvnc. You can find some solutions in the "VNC-related products" section of this forum.
The online creator use a special winvnc version, but indeed it's old.
Now uvnc is released i have some time to update this old version to
make it better Vista compatible.
The mirror driver is installed on the PC you want to control, for a
simple sc connection not ideal.
Driver install
When you download the driver zip, you find an install and uninstall.bat
Open a cmd "runas admin for vista"
cd to the folder corresponding with your OS
run install.bat

Re: How to create SC with this release
Hello Rudi,
thank you for your reply. Now i know a lil bit more bout these projects and how they work...
I think, in my (our) case it would be sufficient to deploy the winvnc.exe from this release to our customers who need remote support and give them an easy ability to start it with the appropriate command line arguments (on vista os with administrative privileges. Right or are there more files to deploy? (In case of using encryption i know that there must be the dsmplugin and the rc4.key file)
Then, i still had to run the vncviewer.exe in listening-mode on our support-pc and wait for an incoming connection. Right?
But, in any case, on vista os the customer has to install the drivers manually (or maybe with a self-developed program, that runs the install.bat with administrative privileges) for better performance. Right?

Yes,gigi2k4 wrote:run the vncviewer.exe in listening-mode on our support-pc and wait for an incoming connection. Right?
but if you use encryption plugin, you need this line.
vncviewer.exe -dsmplugin msrc4plugin.dsm -listen

I would love if you can do that I'm going crazy with my customers uses SC with Vista and Aero. I checked alternative solutions, but SC is damn small in size, no other can match it!Rudi De Vos wrote:This is not possible.
