SC Stopped working
SC Stopped working
I've been using UVNC for quite some time, every once and awhile comcast will change my outside IP address. This hasn't been a problem until now. We had some bad weather and I shut all computers down. When I started them up again my outside IP had changed. I've changed the IP in the helpdesk.txt file uploaded it and then downloaded the .exe program. I've also check my router and the internal IP is the same in the port forwarding. When I run the .exe program I double click the line for connection but all I get is 5 min try period. My home computer (server) is in listen mode. Any ideas as to what may have happened.
Re: SC Stopped working
have you checked that the port is open ??? there are several online services that will check this for you, and most of them work well.
if you have viewer listening, you should get a error message popup (from the viewer) when port is correctly queried ...
this should let you know all is working as far as port forwarding and correct IP address ...
you should think about setting up a dyndns.org address, that way you don't have to change your support EXE if your IP changes ... just change the DYNDNS address (or have an app change it for you) and your good to go ...
