I have created the file needed to connect with Single Click. I sent it to a friend who executed it but nothing happened. He said that when he double clicked the invitation line that it opened up a copy of Firefox on his unit.
I have a public IP addy and I have a router with the addy 192.168.0.1 . The line 2 text is "-connect <IP Addy>:5500 -noregistry"
I put the public addy as the addy in line 2 of the helpdesk.txt file.
The problem is, what do I have to have open on my end of the connection?
Do I open:
The Viewer on my unit?
The Server on my unit?
Something else?
Should I try changing the port number from 5500 to 5800 or 5900?

Connect with Single Click

Re: Connect with Single Click
To accept a connection from Single Click, you need to:jimpeel wrote:The problem is, what do I have to have open on my end of the connection?
Do I open:
The Viewer on my unit?
The Server on my unit?
1. Running the vncviewer in listening mode. Open a CMD window, and excute:
  vncviewer.exe -listen
2. If there are any antivirus/firewall program, you should configure them to allow the incoming of port 5500 signal.
3. As you are using a router, you must configure it to forward the 5500 signal to your pc (which have vncviewer running).[/quote]
At the end of your friend, he should configure the antivirus/firewall program as well, to allow the outgoing signal from the Single Click file.jimpeel wrote:Something else?
I can't image what happend. Can you post the content of helpdesk.txt for checking if any error? (just shield the public IP)jimpeel wrote:I have created the file needed to connect with Single Click. Re: Connect with Single Click
YY,
Thank you so very much. All I needed to do was to enter the command "vncviewer.exe -listen" and it linked instantly. It kinda freaked my friend out, as he is a bit paranoid of his computer being compromised. To suddenly see me on there pushing the cursor around was a bit disturbing.
We did not have to do anything at his end as far as ports or configuration. He was also bugged that his firewall allowed the access. I told him that once he invited me in that was all that was necessary.
Thanks again for the help. That was all I needed to complete this project.
By the way, he did not get Firefox when he clicked the connection. What he did was to click on the "More Info" button. Sorry for the error.
Sincerely,
j
