File transfer problems, Server is Windows Vista

Post by glen4cindy »

I've been having problems with transferring files. I'm inside my home network, going from my laptop upstairs running XP Home connecting to my PC in the basement running Vista Business.

I can transfer files from most directories EXCEPT anything in My Documents folder. There is only 1 user on the Vista system. Whenever I open the file transer window, and then browse to the My Documents and then say My Pictures, My Music, My Videos or any folder under the My Documents tree, the windows gives me an error: ERROR! Media is not present in the remote drive.

Now, this is the Master and ONLY hard drive in the system, so I know the media is present! If I try to go from Documents and Settings folder, it does not show any folders under that heading and gives the same error.

I really need to solve this as it is making things tedious having to copy them to a TEMP directory and then opening the file transfer window and doing it that way, because then it works.

Thanks for your help.
