Driver issues with Enterprise Rollout

Post by KHabershon »

I am currently trying to build an MSI package to use in my enterprise enviroment. We had a previous build (not by me) that was ver 1.0.0 however MS Logon II was never enabled and due to changes in policy we have to restrict to Groups rather than individuals.

With that being said, the old version seemed to have NO problems with screen updates. It was as fast as sitting right in front of the system, ie. keystrokes, page loads, document opens, scrolling through registry.

I have made an attempt at using 1.0.5.3 using a clean PC and a clean install. First attempt I did without using any of the display configurations (Full Screen Polling, No Video Driver, No HookDLL) and as you can imagine, it was slow and the Help Desk had to constantly click "Refresh" on their viewer in order to get the screen updates.

I then have done another build, with Full Screen Polling enabled and attempted to install the Video Driver using the silent option. Built the MSI using WinInstall LE and deployed via MS Group Policy. The Help Desk no longer has to constantly click "Refresh" all the time however, it doesn't seem to install the Video Driver on the client systems I am attempting to connect to. On one of the systems when I went in to "Check Driver Installation" it states that the driver does not exist.

Can anyone offer some type of assistance or suggestions to assist? I have spent quite a bit of time trying to figure this out.

**EDIT** I forgot to mention. We use XP SP2/3 everywhere. No Vista machines at all.

So what I am to gather from your first post is that UltraVNC is not a suggested product for an enterprise solution, you are referring me to these other products for this?

Also, the 2nd post is not an option with 700+ systems I am not sitting down at each workstation. I have not tested to see if it would work with a batch file.
