not able to coinnect form outside firewall

Post by help_needed »

I've set up UltraVNC on one of the computers within the network, and can connect to it fine from computers within the network. (using 191.168.0.xxx address), but if I try to connect to it using the outside IP address of my firewall, it just sits there and says:
Connecting until it fails with Failed to Connect to Server
I'm using a Dlink firewall (DI-604)
I have under Virtual Server:

vnchttp 192.168.0.110 TCP 5900/5900 always
vnc to cedar2 192.168.0.110 TCP 5800/5800 always
anothervnc 192.168.0.110 TCP 5500/5500 always

But it won't work.
I have ssh set up on another machine, and can connect to it from the outside world fine.
Running a port scanner on the outside ip of the firewall shows the ports blocked.
The firewall is currently set to allow those ports on it.
Any suggestions?
(running windows XP home on all machines involved.

Win XP SP2
ZA Pro
Belkin F5D7321-4

I cannot connected to computer from outside a network. Is there any way to? I want to use the public ip from my modem to access my networked computer from a cybercafe for instance. I setup static ip, and port forwarding on ZA and router. Ports I forwarded:
5800
5801
5900
5901

Any other ports?
My private ip is 192.168.2.250 (static i guess)

Virtual server and the firewall are two seperate entities from what I remember with the Dlink routers.

You have to specify the port under virtual servers - in order to forward the specific port. Then under firewall you also have to allow those ports to come into your Lan interface from your WAN interface.

You say you have the firewall set up, but are you confusing that with the virtual server?

If you ran a port scan from a webpage on your wan ip and it says those ports are blocked.. they are.. Thats why It leads me to believe its your firewall settings.
