Exit after all connections finish (feature added to 1.0.5.7)

Post by JDaus »

*EDIT* [topic=15126]Feature has been added to server 1.0.5.7[/topic]

I think an INI option to exit after connection (or last if multiple) finished would allow the devs to get out of creating a new SC version for vista ... this would mean that a simple application (like SCPrompt) could use UVNC server to connect instead of SC.

i believe this would not be too hard to implement, as the connectionEnded is already detected (the icon changes from icon2.ico back to icon1.ico). at this point you do an INI read and if "ExitOnDisconnect=1" is found, then exit instead of waiting for new connections

anyone agree ???

glad to see that I had someone think I wasn't silly :-)

I can put up with 700k SC for vista ... :)

but the next thing would be to add SC GUI into server, so when called with -sc argument (for example) the server would behave just as the old SC ...

for those people that don't understand why this is a good request, i will explain using the following question asked via PM ...
Why is it so important for the app to close?
When I'm done, I simply right click the "server" on the remote end, and close it. This terminates my connection.

I'd agree this is the "right" way to do it, but do we have to have it?
every addon SC application (nitro's, scprompt, scprompt2009, vnc2me & manu more) use the old SC application via the command line. (some use already use the server)

if we want to use the server as an interchangable item for SC, then we need it to behave like SC, the problem is it doesn't.

when a connection problem occurs in the SC application, the application closes.
when a connection problem occurs in the latest SERVER application, the application remains running.

the minor (?) change i propose would allow SERVER to act like SC in many addon applications, and would allow the latest server to be interchanged for SC in MOST addon apps available todate ...

hope this helps explain things ....

I second this too.
Would also be nice if the viewer in listen mode would wait for confirmation before accepting the incoming call, like the old sc version did.

Keep the ideas and commitment flowing JDaus, good on yer mate.
