Authenticaiton Problems

Post by KHabershon »

New here and let me briefly explain what's going on.

We are making chaanges to the way we push out our users that have Local Admin rights. We use a GPO to change the Adminstrators group on the machines. We recently removed individual usernames (Domain accounts) in put in Domain Groups instead.

So for example: instead of DOMAIN\JDOE being in the administrators group it now shows DOMAIN\Department Local Admins to which user JDOE is a member of.

We are using UltraVNC 1.0.2 with MSLogon I enabled and it has worked without any problems when the username was in there. Now that we have moved to AD based groups I am unable to login using both the local administrator account nor using the credentials JDOE even though the AD group that JDOE is a member of is in the administrators group on the local PC.

Oh by the way the error that I am getting is Username/Password invalid. Checking the event logs on the system it gives this error in the Security logs on the system I am attempting to connect to:

Logon attempt by: MICROSOFT_AUTHENTICATION_PACKAGE_V1_0
Logon account: JDOE
Source Workstation: WORKSTATION NAME
Error Code: 0xC0000064 <--- States that the accoutn name does not exist

Anyone have any ideas regarding resolution?
