Need help with Helpdesk text and dynamic DNS.

Post by midiman »

Hi I read a sticky article on here about using SC with a dynamic dns provider like no-ip.

In the article it mentions about specifying the WAN IP address of your router in the Helpdesk txt file.

I cant see how this would work, because its the WAN IP address that is normally dynamically assigned by your ISP.

Shouldn't you put a host name in the helpdesk file. Because the host name maps to the dynamic ip set by your ISP??

or am i getting something wrong here??

please help

thanks
