Mode 1 connections only allowed from viewers, closing connec

Post by argos »

I strongly suspect ignorance on my part, but after two days of digging through this post and others, I can't seem to figure out what's going on.

I'm trying to do a test setup using the linux repeater and uVNC-SC on an XP machine. I've got the repeater running on a FreeBSD box, and so far as I know the configuration file is correct (I can post if it will help). I've built the SC executable from the web interface, and so far as I know it's also configured correctly (I added the '-id' flag with appropriate ID to the executable config).

The resulting problem is that the SC will connect to the repeater okay, then after about 4 seconds the repeater will boot the server with the message:

Mode 1 connections only allowed from viewers, closing connection

The test network is entirely local at the moment (all machines in question are in a 10.x.x.x block, with no firewalls or the like).

Any help, even a smack upside the head and a point to the appropriate FAQ or post, would be greatly appreciated.
