Also, here is something to note.
While I was connected with the black screen with unvc, I also connected to my rig via Remote Desktop - in order to see if anything was going on.
When I did that, the screen on my VNC view displayed! I was then able to work with vnc. However, when I turned off RD, I was not able to move anything on my VNC Viewer again...very wierd

Try turning on Capture Alpha Blending in Admin properties.
At least when connecting to a Vista computer from an XP computer, this helped me.
