Repeater

Post by fsidegrind »

I want to make sure I understand the way the repeater works as explained here: http://www.uvnc.com/addons/repeater.html

you install uvnc and connect to machine A, then from machine a, you can use the viewer to connect to machine b, c, d, etc...? Is this correct?

With Repeater mode#1, you connect through the repeater to PC-A,B,C or D.

you should probably think of it as a gateway for the connects ... you "use it" to repeat you connect onto the appropriate server ... (see bottom of connection image)

you install repeater on any machine onsite (recomend one that is always on :) and that has a static local IP), setup port forwarding to it (and allow through windows firewall), then connect to the local IP address of a UVNC machine (say PC-A IP) using the public IP (or dyndns address) and port (suggest using something other then 59**) as the repeater address.

you should be connecting to PC-A (or B,C,D)

hope that helps

you should probably post help style questions in the help sections of this forum, as they are related to the products supported for this forum.

this section is for other VNC products (NON UVNC related)

just for future referance
