dual monitor setup, only one monitor shows up

Post by scott_01_xr400 »

I have 2 monitors set up on my host. When I remote into it, I can only see the main monitor. some programs open in the second monitor when I start them so I cannot see them after they are started.

Is there a way to scroll from one screen to the other (like realvnc does) ?

It may have been answered a million times, but identifying the correct answer is the trick.

For instance, I did a search on "dual monitor setup" which resulted in nearly 5,000 posts. After reading through the first 20 pages I find no clear answer and most of the search results have nothing to do with dual monitor setup.

Is there a way to get a sticky, or some FAQ on this?

BTW: I had dual monitor set up and working fine on version 1.02, but when I upgraded to 1.05 I'm not able to reliably access screens. Been searching for a couple days for the answer...still looking.

Regards!

Dual monitors requires installation of the video driver on the machine running the server. Then you can use the Select Full Desktop/Switch monitor (driver mode) button next to the Chat button. This will toggle from monitor 1, monitor 2 and both.

I understand the button and can TOGGLE between my monitors but the issue I'm having is being able to "scroll" to the right or left and see the "other" monitor.
I thought according to the previous poast you could see Monitor A, B or both which would indicate the "scroll" mode. But after clicking through the modes my machines will not scroll.
Is this scrolling between monitors not available any longer ?
This worked for me in R 1.02 but does not work now.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers.
Any ideas would be welcome.

Thanks

I use this with 1.0.5 so it still works, but only functions with the video driver. After establishing a connection, ensure that the driver is functioning properly. Right click on the remote PC's eyeball icon and select Properties. Ensure that "Video Hook Driver" is selected and click on the "Check the Video Hook Driver" to check.

You might be able to use the Tabbed viewer (kinda still buggy) viewer as well. It is suppose to show each monitor in a tab but I never tried it..:( I only have one monitor
