No Luck, Vista PC on XP Network, 1.04 RC16 (OK NOW!)

Post by MrCreosote »

I've been running UVNC on this network for a long time and it is simple to setup and use.

To setup a server, you install the software, set the password, open port in firewall, do portforwarding in router, and you are off to the races.

I did all that with the Vista PC using 1.04 RC16 with UAC disabled.

It did not show up when I did www.gotomyvnc.com nor did it work when View tried from another PC.

I do have a few questions:

1) Do you need 1.04 RC16 on Viewer PC's (all XP)?
2) What is server_viewer_bin.zip which is another download file that is not discussed?
3) Isn't there a step-by-step explanation how to set up Vista Server?

Thanks so much in advance,
Tom

SOLVED PROBLEM:

Turns out there is NOTHING to be done differently (at least for the Vista machine setup that I have) other than use 1.04 RC16.

My problem was that I hadn't set the Ports > Main & Http to the particular 590x that I was using. They were set to Auto. No Ms login either. UAC disabled on Vista machine FYI.

So everything appears to be working now.
