UltraVNC running on a restricted useraccount

Post by franc »

Hello,
does UltraVNC runs on a normal (restricted) User-account?

I tried different things but didn't get a connection.

I ran winvnc.exe (not as service) with:

winvnc.exe -autoreconnect ID:12345 -connect myServer::5500

out of a restricted useraccount or with "runas" as admin (but still on the restricted user-account).
I put the appropriate wholes into the firewall (5500, 5900, out and in).

In the Taskmanager i see winvnc.exe running and it has a 5500 connection to my repeater established.

In the repeater-logfile i read something like:
... 12:00 connection to <IP> established
... 12:10 connection killed (idle too long)

and then after, no more established connections, inspite of -autoreconnect!

But from somewhere else, trying to connect with vncviewer (ID:12345, Proxy/Repeater: myServer ...) the connection will fail (failed to connect to server).
This is working on admin-accounts though (if the user running winvnc to the repeater loggin in with an adminaccount).

Maybe somewhere here in the forum it is written that it doesnt work, unfortunately i didnt find it.

UltraVNC is a really great thing (if it works:-)

regards, franc

Shame on me.
Once more: Shame on me :-(

My mistake was:

I put 5900 instead of 5901 as port in the Proxy/Repeater - Port (in vncviewer, the userinterface).
Proxy/Repeater: myServer:5900 (instead of 5901)
In my repeater it is 5901. I forgot that. I am a all-my-life-beginner :-)

It is allways the same thing: It doesnt work and i try and try and try and dont know whats wrong. In the end its a homemade mistake.

regards, franc
