Hit there,
I'm new with this and having some problems.
I'm trying to use SC with Viewer
So, i've edited helpdesk.txt and changed the ip to 1.2.3.4:5500
Created the exe as told, and send it to my brothers PC.
I've also made a portforward in my router to 1.2.3.4:5500 (both protocols)
But when i run the viewer it stays listening to 5500 port, but i get... nothing, not living soul.
Both of us putted down the antvirus and Firewalls in the experience.
Can anyone help me,
thx

Re: Cant Connect
Sounds like you set up port forwarding to a private IP address inside you LAN (as you should have), but set up the helpdesk.txt file with the private IP address as well. The helpdesk.txt file needs your public IP address or dynamic host name. You can see you public IP address by visiting WhatsMyIP and can set up a free hostname at DynDNS. The hostname isn't required, but will make it so that if your IP address changes, your bother will still be able to connect.
P.S. I'm assuming that you and your brother are not on the same LAN.

Re: Cant Connect
Thanx for your reply,
I've created an account on Dyndns, and added a dynamic ip, wich now, it corresponds to na example.dyndns.org, but what if my ip exchanges? What will happen to example.dyndns.ip?

Re: Cant Connect
If you use a DynDNS Updater the hostname will automatically resolve to your dynamic IP address.

Re: Cant Connect
Thax man,
One last question
Now i have example.dyndns.org connected to 1.2.3.4 ip and my private ip is 4.3.2.1 and i'll use the 5500 port.
So, in helpdesk.txt this will be:
[HOST]
Internet support
-connect example.dyndns.org 4.3.2.1:5500 -noregistry
Right?

Re: Cant Connect
Right, the port forwarding gets you to the local machine.
