PCHW is buggy and has many files?

I tested PCHW and it seems buggy. On my Virtual Machine using VirtualPC with win2k it caused my mouse to incorrectly respond to left mouse clicks... There were a few other issues that I do not remember off the top of my head.

Also, is it correct that the server comes as multiple files?

This thread is not mean as a complaint, but rather to see how mature the product is. I appreciate all the hard work that people put into creating software, especially if it is volunteered.

I have only been testing PCHW on and off for a couple of weeks, and the only issue I spotted with it was the tab order of the fields in the viewer app. Having said that, I haven't gone to the bother of determining if that was the intended order, or whether I'm just being fussy.

So far as the server app is concerned, it comes as a single compressed EXE file. It comprises a total of seven files.

What is more important from my perspective is that the end user is presented with a single file which they just run. There is no installation to do, and no uninstall procedure at the end. They just get the file and run it. It runs in memory, so their PC is clean after its finished. Also, since they don't have to physically install it, they are not going to get warning about admin rights. At worst, they will get a warning from their firewall software saying that the program is trying to access the internet.

Of all the remote access software I have looked at, this is the best I have come across. There may be something out there that is even better, but I haven't come across it.

One more thing to consider. Think of your desired audience. They are calling you for help. Do you really want to talk them through a big download, followed by an install (which they might not be able to run), followed by the actual help, followed by an uninstall. Or do you just want them to download a 300Kb+ file and run it? I know which one I will opt for.
