Using PCHW on Three Laptops Attached to a Router

Post by photoman »

I've been able to test PCHW from a laptop connected to a router to access another PC, and it works fine. I have set it up to use the repeater. However, if and when I get approval to actually use this software to help our customers, there is another obstacle to overcome.

There are three of us here, each with a laptop, all of which are connected to the router. How can I set PCHW up so that we could all be using it on our laptops and dealing with customers at the same time?

Code: Select all

1 laptop with PCHW \ / User PC
1 laptop with PCHW - Router - Internet - User PC
1 laptop with PCHW / \ User PC
Does this make sense?

redge - Not sure I understand your response to my question.

I already had a look at that particular post and had posted a message to it as I had issues running the server app on my work PC.

With regard to my particular question here, would creating three separate server apps work, using different IDs?

e.g. Laptop 1 creates server 1 with ID of 888881 and IP of 123.123.123.123
Laptop 2 creates server 2 with ID of 888882 and IP of 123.123.123.123
Laptop 3 creates server 3 with ID of 888883 and IP of 123.123.123.123

Would this scenario work, bearing in mind that they all use the same IP address?

I suppose I could try this and see what happens, but it's finding the time and a quiet period to tie up two laptops, and then get two customers who want to be guinea pigs.

there no reason that not work because is one to one
but the only remain issue is that somebody use the same number ID number at same time of you if you use the public repeater, otherwise no problem.

just take care the order with repeater of pchelpware,
you need viewer connected to repeater before server

redge - Thanks. I hope to get PCHW passed by our IT security people, so we can use it, and if I can get that done, I then hope to persuade them to set up a repeater as well.

It will then just be a matter of getting our web team to put up a page hosting the server app (or three apps) for downloading.
