Hi all,
I've got a question. I've got a repeater up and running and I can connect through that repeater from work to my home. but when I try it the other way around the server tool won't let me connect from my work to my repeater.
All 3 pc's are on different ip's. And all 3 are located behind a router or firewall. On the repeater several ports have been opened that have been initialised by the repeater tool.
We've tried it from different locations, but it doesn't properly work.
For example, I can connect with server from home to repeater and with viewer.
However I can't connect with server from work to repeater, but I can connect with the viewer from work to repeater.
Getting this error:
Failed to connect
Kan geen verbinding maken met de doelcomputer de verb (the rest I can't read)
Init network failed
I mean, I'm Dutch, I know what it means, but I can't figure out why my server can not connect from work, but viewer can.
I hope you can help me out, since this is very important for us.
Regards,
Larko

Re: Different locations, different connections
Your work may not allow access using the ports you've set up.
Re: Different locations, different connections
according to what I've read working with the repeater makes it work that I don't have to open up any ports except at the repeater end.
Also why should I be able to connect with the viewer but not with the server, that's what I find strange as well...

Re: Different locations, different connections
Oops, I missed that in your original post. By default, the repeater listens for the viewer on port 5901 and for the server on port 5500 so they are different ports. Also why should I be able to connect with the viewer but not with the server, that's what I find strange as well.
You've posted in the PcHelpWare forum so I'm assuming that's what you're using . If you've copied all of the PcHelpWare directory to your work PC there is a bug that requires you to type in the saved password and resave the first time you run it on the new machine.
