Can't connect

Post by Joker 2001 »

Hai there,

I tried to connect to a computer which WAN IP starts with 82.xxx.xxx.xx but I can't connect. Both PC's are on XP, installed Ultr@VNC properly and the right applications are running.

I tried it with another PC with 195.xxx.xx.xxx and it works fine. The first PC has no router, but an ADSL modem. The second one has a router.

Can someone please help me on this one?

This probably is a typical NAT-router problem.
The typical ADSL-modem also has a router functionality build into its system.
You should try to connect to your router using http://<routerip> and maybe you can configure port-forwaring to the right internal IP.

It should be a NAT problem. I opened the browser of this Speedtouch 510 and there are some options, f.e:

Inside IP Port
Outside Ip Port

I don't know which IP number I need. I found a ping IP adress starting with 195.xxx.xxx.xx, whom I can ping from here, but it still doesn't give me a connection. I don't know how to open a port for 5900 in the ADSL modem.
