UltraVNC much faster with RealVNC viewer

I used RealVNC till now on my WinXP computer. I now switched to UltraVNC, because I like the file-transfer and die video-hook-driver, which makes it so fast...

BUT: On my Win98 clients the UltraVNC viewer is extrem slow! I tried it then with the old RealVNC viewer, and it is lightning-fast... does this make sense? I have to Laptops from which I connect to my PC, and an both this happens.

Could be 2 reasons...

Realvnc does not support all encoders, other encoder is used.
The engine is faster.

Try manual selection of the encoder

DDI Hooking is currently broken for 9x... this could affect your speed.

But not the viewer speed.
Same ultra server, 2 flavors viewers...

ddihooking is already updated in cvs.
ddihooking makes it faster, but does not explain the difference
between the 2 viewers.
