Disconnects after Screen Paint/redraw

I am using SC with a repeater (MODE II)
on some connections and it's not all the time, the two sides connect and the screen comes up and begins painting, when it gets almost to the bottom 80 percent or so the viewer closes and the connection is lost.
Has anyone had this problem before. I have searched the forums but can't find anything. The problem may be intermittant but I can't establish the cause of the problem.
