Many years ago I used a piece of software call Remote-Anything! (http://www.remote-anything.com/en/downloads.htm) for connection to customer servers and workstations. The one thing I really loved about this software was the directory server component. The Directory Server allowed the service tech to select a server or workstation from an on-screen list and then interact with that machine. This was all accomplished via three software components.
Server component running on the machine that you want to control
Directory Server component running on a machine to which you had direct access, ie. on your internal network.
Viewer component running on the machine which you utilize to control the Server.
When you started the Viewer (configured to use the Directory Server) you got a list of available machines. You double-click on the machine name and authenticate and you now have remote control access to the machine. This was great for server as you did not need anyone at the remote site to start the Server component on the remote server. The Server component used a type of keep-alive to communicate with the Directory Server so it could be available to the Viewer in an on-demand state. The Server component was also a system service so that the server could be remote rebooted and allow for reconnection to the Directory Server.
Is this type of scenario available for the PCHelpWare component now? If not, could it be part of the software in the future, maybe as a part of the repeater component? I this this would be a great advantage to people using PCHelpWare/UltraVNC SC/UltraVNC for server management.

Does [topic=3674]VNC Central[/topic] sound like it will work? Only one post this year so I don't know if it's still being developed .
