Single Click download blocked by IE and Edge
Single Click download blocked by IE and Edge
The latest single click generator seems to be producing an executable that is getting blocked by internet explorer and edge browsers as corrupt or invalid. I'm using the Feb 2015 generator found here (not the UAC or the windows 8/10 experimental).

Has anyone else experienced this, or more importantly, know a way to resolve it? An older .exe I have downloads fine...

Re: Single Click download blocked by IE and Edge
sha-1 signing need to be replaced by sha-2.
MS blocked faster then expected the sha-1 certificats for the new Os's.
We already get the new certs, but still need to be implemented for the auto signing from the online ccreators.

Re: Single Click download blocked by IE and Edge
signing updated, please test
Re: Single Click download blocked by IE and Edge
Tested it out and is working quite well, thank you!
We notice that we are having to use the refresh icon a lot to get the whole screen to draw properly consistently -- any suggestions on how to minimize the need for that?
Thanks again,
Sheldon

Re: Single Click download blocked by IE and Edge
There's a similar problem here. I compiled SC to run directly without helpdesk.txt, so no file in %temp% has to be executed, because it is (and should be) forbidden per Software Restriction Policies. This worked fine until Windows 7. But how can I avoid the IE/Edge-problem?
2nd question: I just updated vncviewer.exe to http://www.uvnc.eu/sc/sc_viewer.zip It seems to be better than the older version, but there's a little issue after connecting to the server. When the screen is transfered completely it is immediately transfered once again. With simple screen-content it's only a flicker but with a large screen and a varied colorful browser-window there is a annoying delay.

Re: Single Click download blocked by IE and Edge
The problem is that exe need to be signed.
Our version ( online created) get signed to overcome this issue, but if you compile your own you need to sign it yourself.
This actual an old viewer. SC is a realy old source ( still bould with VC6.0, win98 compiler) This makes the exe small and portable to all OS's. SC behave better with the old viewer. The old viewer had this double init issue. Did you already tried by presetting an encoder instaed of the auto mode.

Re: Single Click download blocked by IE and Edge
I don't have a certificate and don't want to spent money for nothing but MSs new nonsense. Is there a way to sign the exe without having an own certificate?Rudi De Vos wrote:Our version ( online created) get signed to overcome this issue
Now I tried, but without a difference. I discovered, that checking "Preemptive Updates" makes the connect faster but seems to be slower afterwards. I miss a documentation for this feature, what does this do exactly? My workaround now is to uncheck "preemtive updates" after connect.Did you already tried by presetting an encoder instaed of the auto mode.
Thanks for your reply - and all your work on VNC/SC.

Re: Single Click download blocked by IE and Edge
No work around for the signing, and sorry, we don't sign exe not compiled by us.
preemtive updates.
Normal
viewer ask update--server encode--server send--viewer receive--viewer display--viewer ask update
preemtive
viewer ask update--server encode--server send--viewer receive (first data)--viewer ask next update--viewer receive--viewer display
This makes it sometimes faster.

What signing do you see when you check the properties of the file ?

Re: Single Click download blocked by IE and Edge
as we have problems with the newest version (https://forum.ultravnc.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=31820) we use not the experimental one - can you update the signature-process for the earlier-version-generators aswell?
