sc request

Post by sgt-d »

hopefully this post will be a little more worthy than my last one here ahem.

this is a feature request more than anything.

there are three things that i would like to see changed in sc if at all possible.

1) this has been posted, so i will keep it short: a "connect" button. almost everyone agrees that with most windows app you select something, then you click a button. that's sorta the norm with windows. personally, i still like being able to double click on the item.

2) eliminate the silly error "no vnc server selected" if an end user accidentally clicks in the white area below the list of hosts. this error is too vague and makes no sense to anyone using the sc interface. instead, do nothing. no error, no beep.

3) when rejecting a connection, change "refused byb user" to "refused by user". actually... don't even show the message at all. if i decide not to accept a connection i don't really need a reminder that i clicked the "no" button.

4) now that xp style is built into vncviewer and winvnc with rc 20.5, will sc have xp style any time soon?

5) this is a "pie in the sky" request... and i don't think i've seen anyone request it yet... but is there any way possible to indicate when hosts are actually online and listening vs completely offline and unavailable? if so it would be nice to see a bright green light next to the online hosts and a bright red light next to the offline hosts. if not the pretty lights, maybe you could change the offline hosts text to silver and only the online hosts would be solid black text. something, anything. and in either case, selecting an offline host would disable the new "connect" button in item 1 above, clicking an active host would re-enable it. just an idea.

thoughts?

ok, that's all for now.

sc really is an awesome tool by the way!

Excellent ideas! Can anyone implement them?
