Blank monitor ON (Windows 8)

Hi,

I Installed UltraVNC Server Ver1.1.9.3 on Windows 8 PC.
Then, blank monitor's ON is not operating as expected.

Server PC is desktop mode : an image will be displayed also on the viewer side.
Server PC is start-up screen : an image will not be displayed on the Server side.

Is there how to solve?

Blank monitor on win8 need a revue as it doesn't use layered windows.
Cause:
The trick was to use a top layer ( that hide the desktop) on the server site
and tell the OS not to capture this layer. win8 does not longer support it.

Sorry, I could not understand well.
Since a top layer of Windows8 differs from other WindowsOS, is blank monitor operation failed?
I would like to learn how blank monitor of UltraVNC operates by Windows8 as expected.

Simple:
uvnc use a method for blank monitor that is no longer supported by windows 8.
We need to see if there exist another method in windows 8 and implement this in uvnc.
It's on the todo list...

Hi, Any update on this?

I'm using version 1.1.9.6 Server and 1.1.9.3 viewer....and the BLANK MONITOR DOES NOT WORK on Windows 8.1 machines. If I check "ENABLE BLANK MONITOR ON Viewer Request", then click the blank monitor button, the Windows 8 Machine monitor(s) DOES in fact go blank, but the remote screen immediately jumps to the windows 8 log-in screen in an endless loop and I can't do anything remotely.

This is Great software, a big THANKS to the developers!

Now I'm using UltraVNC Ver1.1.9.6.
This module 'blank monitor' is seen working on Windows8.1.
But black screen displayed at server side.

I'm going to try on other OS's.

black screen is repro on Wndows8.
other OS does not repro.

Layered windows are removed in wddm video, blank windows doesn't work with wddm.
Until know, we didn't found a solution.
