connection drop + no reconnect after logoff

Post by btrash »

Hello!

I'm stuck in a annoying Problem with UltraVNC.

I Installed the UltraVNC 1.1.9.3 64bit on Windows 7 64 bit business (as Service + Ctrl-Alt-Delete allowed)
Configuration is default, exept VNC Password is set.

Everthing works great until a logoff happens...
After the logoff on the remote Computer, no logins are possible with the a VNC Viewer until VNC Service is restarted, or (very weird) a different VNC Viewer is used.

I don't use any special settings and the Host is pretty "native" Win7 (even no antivirus software installed)

I read many postings about similar issues but they were mostly relevant to "Require MS Domain Login settings"

Something definetely happens with the UltraVNC Service when logging off!
I'm completely stuck.

Can you reproduce that issue with following steps ?

1. Install UltraVNC1193 64bit (msi) on Win764 as service.
2. Connect to the remote host with uvnc-viewer
3. Click Windows Button + Logoff
4. Try to reconnect vnc viewer.

Need more feedback... a 500 people downloaded the msi yesterday, so other must have the same issue.

Our own developper system is a native win7 X64.
Strange that the msi ( who use the same exe as the other setups has this issue) it almost behave like in application mode

Is the server still running when you have this issue ( Do you see the systray)
Did you had a previous package inno setup installed before ?
Msi is another package, you can not update a inno setup with a msi in that case you possible have multiple versions installed and running simultanious.

I will try todo some tests, but first need to cleanup my PC from several uvnc installs :)

Its fresh installation and i want to replace tightvnc abd ultravnc was installed before.

During period where i cannot connect UltraVNC Client says "Ther Server is running as Application".
In later tests i found out that it just takes some time until reconnect works (about 1-2minutes ).
I think i was just too fast :)

Is it possible to configure the vncserver that session continues during logoff ?

I cannot see this after logoff in local machine.
But from remote machine via sc \\%hostname% query , the service is started.

VNC was original made for single session OS ( <=XP)
Now (VIsta>=), the OS has different sessions, a logon session, user session , a service session etc...

It's not possible to keep vnc active while the session switch happen as this also cause the winvnc (desktop part)
to be restarted in the active session.

Normal, the viewer caption bar should show the status that the viewer is reconnecting and
the viewer auto reconnect when the switch is done.
(viewer options reconnect number and timeout need to be set for it)
