Translations

Post by miuib »

Hi,
I have tested the V1.1.8. German translation (german.dll as vnclang.dll) with V1.1.9.
Besides of showing the wrong version number there are some more issues, that have been the same with V1.1.8:
the German translation isn't complete in all parts and some of the dialog fields require more space than provided.
Some of the fields aren't readable this way.
I started completing and adapting the german.dll with a Resource Editor by adding translations and enlargening some of the dialogs and fields.
It should work this way, but before I start this work here comes my question:

- is there any way to commit my changes of the german.dll so that the changes will "survive" the next update?

I also would appreciate any other firsthand reports or suggestions on handling the translation DLLs.
Thanks
Miriam

The problem is that each time a letter is changed i need to recompiler the resource aand new dll is generated.
I actual need the Resource Script (rc) file. This file also contain the dialogbox/button size/positions.

This way it survive an update.

great! :)
After doing the changes I can export the resources from the language DLL as .rc file and pass it on to you.
But this will probably take some time to happen, for I am waiting for our customers decision to start this little project.
Hopefully he will be motivated now, because the changes will survive the next update!
I will let you know ...
