Regular VNC works, Java Viewer doesn't

Post by ac4g63 »

Ok I have 2 computers the home network running through a router. Both have Windows XP pro with the newest 20.3 versions of Ultra VNC. Also both have the latest version of java installed. For now I have computer #1 set up as a the server and computer #2 as the client. I have port 5900 forwarded properly.

From computer #2, I can open the VNC client and put in my no-ip address "xxx.no-ip.com" that I have set up and I can perfectly access everything on computer #1 BUT when I try using IE to use the Java Viewer, IE just pulled a "cannot display page" and when I try in Mozilla Firefox my browser pops up this:

Any ideas whats wrong?

  • winvnc1p.exe
use only 1 port TCP: 5900 (take a little more time before prompt authentication (~2 seconds)
  • winvnc.exe:
    use 2 ports TCP: 5800 + 5900
UltraVNC 1.0.9.6.1 (built 20110518)
OS Win: xp home + vista business + 7 home
only experienced user, not developer
