Hi
I would like to create an encrypted remote connection with UltraVNC 1.1.8.0 and the SecureVNCPlugin.dsm plugin.
The computer, which I would check, has Windows 7 SP1 64-bit and the client computer has Windows XP SP3.
So someone could explain step by step how to do this?
Thanks
Bye

Re: Encrypted remote connection and SecureVNCPlugin.dsm plug
1) Copy the plugin to the server and viewer folder.
Just make sure that you use a x64/x86 plugin if the server/viewer is a x64/x86 exe.
Select that server and viewer use this plugin, you don't need to config anything.
2) The plugin can be configured on the server site. If you crate a key make sure you copy the
key to the viewer ( same folder as exe)

Re: Encrypted remote connection and SecureVNCPlugin.dsm plug
If I generate on the Server a private key in a pkey file with the SecureVNCPlugin.dsm plugin of UltraVNC server 1.1.8.0 64 bit and I move this file to the directory of UltraVNC Viewer 1.1.8.0 32-bit on the Client, how do I to ensure that the viewer uses this pkey file?Rudi De Vos wrote:1) Copy the plugin to the server and viewer folder.

Re: Encrypted remote connection and SecureVNCPlugin.dsm plug
The security is server based.
The server know the key need to be used, this mean there is no key exchange between server/viewer, instead the server tell
the viewer to use the predefined key. No config on viewer site needed, he just need to find the key.

Re: Encrypted remote connection and SecureVNCPlugin.dsm plug
I do not understand: If in the directory of the viewer I have more of a pkey files that were generated by more VNC server installed on multiple Server, when I log on to one of these Server, as I do to instruct the viewer to associate a particular public key?Rudi De Vos wrote:The security is server based.

Re: Encrypted remote connection and SecureVNCPlugin.dsm plug
In other words, how do I manage more pkey files coming from more VNC server using the SecureVNC plugin 32/64 bit?

Re: Encrypted remote connection and SecureVNCPlugin.dsm plug
AFAIK the keys are paired based on initial Date substring in filename.
