Rudi please help, It's also very useful for other VNC users

Post by monday8848 »

Hi Rudi, Thanks your forum, Now I successfully deploy VNC to my clients, We need deploy it to thousands computers. So I care more about VNC security, Could you please help answer below 3 question?
1: I deploy 1.0.9.6.2VNC to user's computer, and only install server. Not use mirror drive, and I use MSlogon I to authentication server. I lock user's AD account to users group. And I don;t want user change any VNC settings, So can I delete below 4 files in install folder? check_install.exe; setcad.exe; setpasswd.exe;uvnc_settings.exe. If I can delete this files, Can I successfully clean remove VNC from computers?
2: In Security setting, I unchecked Allow shutdown ultravnc, allow edit clients, allow properties, But user can't kill VNC connections, Because kill all clients become grey. If I check allow edit clients, User can use kill all client, But user can use add new client to use reverse VNC connection, I don;t want user use reverse VNC connection. Is thers any solution to let user break VNC connection?
3: currently I depoly 1.0.962 32bit version VNC to hundred computers. There are winxp 32bit. Win7 32bit, Win7 64bit. Win8 32bit. And all these computers running this version VNC very good. I thought, latest VNC 1.1.8 can support win8 well, but I test 1.0.962 version VNC also can support win8 well. Do I need deploy latest 1.1.8version to these computers? Because there are thousands computer need install VNC. and stable is first thing I need thinking. thank your valuable time to answer these question.

thanks.
