Discuss VNC security
Hi: Can we discuss how to enhance UltraVNC security setting? I mean we can enalbe a lot of VNC security settings, just like, enable MS logon authentication. IP filter, change default port, encrypt session and so on. Are these setting really enough for our security? Or we need think about windows setting, and enable some windows security settings to enhance VNC security? for example, we can hide vnc installation folder```````` `. I hope we can discuss this, VNC bring us convenient, but we need think more about it's security!

Re: Discuss VNC security
It seems noboday care about VNC security?
Re: Discuss VNC security
I don`t know what`s the problem?
Adam Walling has written a great DSMPlugin solution in version 2.3 for ultravnc.Isn`t it good enough?
Are there any issus`s with the security??? I think not.
You can use a VPN solution too.

Re: Discuss VNC security
Lots of people care, but the things you mention are built-in capabilities that already exist. I'm fairly confident the security measures in uVNC are adequate especially when using encryption plugins. If you feel they are inadequate however, then more pointed discussion about how it is inadequate would be useful.
Also, it seems you want to extend the scope of security beyond the program itself (i.e. windows security settings and hiding installation folders). That kind of security is definitely doable, but it's not something uVNC has any control over.

Re: Discuss VNC security
thanks reply, If we use it in intranet, It's safe, I just think one situation, Sometimes our user need bring him/her laptop to home, or using it in airport or other unsafe place. We need do security settings with windows system and VNC setting. And ensure we can refuse all illegal connections.
