My chunkVNC journey so far has been a complete and utter miserable failure. I sure hope someone can help me with this and tell me what I'm doing wrong. I'm a sole proprietor IT support engineer who desires the functionality that I see other people achieving on this forum. I have a static WAN IP provided by AT&T with a high-speed DSL connection. I am behind a Juniper netscreen router/firewall. My local LAN subnet is class C, 192.168.99.XXX /255.255.255.0. I have port forwarded TCP ports 5901, 443 to the standalone PC running Windows XP and the repeater108.exe. I have read all the FAQs that I can get my hands on from this forum and have since realized that the repeater needs to be on a separate LAN segment from a machine that would be running the viewer. So I added another class C subnet 192.168.98.XXX/ 255.255.255.0. I added routing statements and I am able to ping back and forth with no difficulty between my two subnets .99 and .98 and I put the repeater at 192.168.98.5.
I have no difficulty verifying that port 443 and 5901 are open by going to yougetsignal.com and My Juniper netscreen firewall/router is configured to allow any and all protocols originating within both my subnets to pass without any restrictions. I have compiled chunkVNC 3.3.1 with my static WAN IP and my local LAN IP running the repeater. Having read the FAQs I watch the log and every time I start the viewer it shows up in the log, but I have never, EVER seen the instant support ID number show up. This is of course the ultra-VNC server component. I've spent days on this trying every possible variation I can come up with… without success.
I downloaded the Swiss repeater full proof version just to see if it would actually work, and it did! So I decided to try something completely different. My son has a dynamic IP WAN provided by Comcast cable but he does have an account with noIP.com. So I built a spare PC only this one is running Windows 2003 server, and put it 30 miles from me. RealVNC is set up and working perfectly on this box. I can open up a RealVNC client on one of my support computers and put in my sons’ domain name and the DNS propagation works perfectly. I hit the login screen without difficulty. I can manage this machine remotely as if I'm sitting in front of it. RealVNC is using port 5900. Same configuration for this Linksys firewall/router, 5901 and 443 are port forwarded and confirmed via yougetsignal.com and others programs that also verify the ports are open. I have run netstat –an command and the computer is listening on port 5901 and 443. Outgoing ports are not restricted. I recompiled the chunkVNC 3.3.1 with his domain name and local LAN IP running the repeater with no apparent errors, when instant support.exe is run on my local LAN nothing shows in the repeater108.exe log on a server located 30 miles from the with a completely different ISP provider and WAN IP, and it just times out saying the repeater could not be contacted.
Any and all suggestions would be appreciated, please note I have always completely disable my antivirus before I even install chunkVNC, and when I compile. I have the repeater totally outside my local LAN in much the same way the full proof Swiss and German versions are set up. At this point I really don't know where to look as my firewall should no longer be an issue as the repeater has been removed from my local LAN.
I'm very jealous of those of you who've been able to get this working without issue. And providing cold beer wouldn't be a problem, but unfortunately I have to drink them to drown my tears, wink, wink HAHA!
As with most computer problems it’s probably to be something very simple and I can't wait to be educated on what a doofus I've been by not figuring it out by myself. I'm fully prepared to eat crow! Help me, help me!

I don't understand why you think that the repeater needs to be on a "separate LAN segment"? This does not make sense to me at all.
If you downloaded the Swiss ready to run version and it worked than your problem is with the port forwarding to your repeater.
As the installation guide states you should be able to test with yougetsignal to check if your ports are opened correctly.
Please follow the installation guide again and let me know where you get stuck.
