Viewer won't connect

Post by FlamingYawn »

I've compiled my viewer and InstantSupport.exe and am running the viewer, support exe and repeater on three different PCs on my LAN. I run my viewer and it connects to the repeater (Repeater xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx connection established!)

The repeater log shows:

accept() connection
Writing protocol version erro

InstantSupport.exe connects to my repeater and give me the six digit number. I type the six digit number in my viewer. It tries to connect and I see this window:

Image

The repeater log shows:

Viewer added to list 287650
ID added 287650

After several minutes of waiting, I get this dialog:

Image

The repeater log shows:

recv -1
Remove viewer 287650 0
Viewer removed from list 287650

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Note sure at this point unless you're running some kind of software firewall....

Can you try running the repeater on another machine just to test with and let us know what happens? (setup the repeater on your viewer machine)

No software firewall. I can run the repeater from my laptop and it worked fine, but I need it to work from the PC. Any ideas on what any of these error codes/messages mean? I have no idea how to track down what is different from my laptop to PC.

The repeater will drop the viewer connection after a timeout period if it doesn't have a server ID to match it with which will cause the error you saw.

Please post full logs of your repeater as it appears that the server was never making a connection to the server.
