New Version

Post by alforreca »

Hi,

I installed the new version. Congratulations would be wonderful to have good quality support software free.
Worked fine but... Might be a strange question?
Is it possible to run the server part in private own dedicated server? With static public ip and all the nat done?
I tested the viewer with default settings... so it logins to you may group and server ip. Shows a bunch of "people there" :)
Not much info about V2.... the old version we could use the repeater to act as intermediary.
I'm clueless about V2... is this possible, run my own server/group/slave servers?
any small how-to available?

The new version has an access server that replaces the repeater. The access server is available on the same page as the other files.

EDIT: I lied, it's not on the main page yet. There is a link in the post below. It's the 3rd party piece.

I haven't had any time to test this stuff. I am in the middle of a big project. I am sure as time progresses it will work better. We used a paid for client that was really similiar to this called impcremote. It had a very similiar "manager". I am sure it will work.

I can't get it to connect.
I set the group name
I set the password
I setup an SC and transferred to another PC.
I run the SC and it says connecting...
On the Viewer I see the ID I created, but the icon is orange.
If I right-click the ID and click Setup P2P it flashes for a bit and the goes back to orange.

I've tried with multiple PCs on different networks :(

Perhaps the server password wasn't set on the viewer.
Click the icon ID on the viewer and set password.

The viewer also allow to set a save password, this is only use the protect the viewer settings,
it has nothing to to with the server<->viewer passwd.
