I think quite a lot of ChunkVNC and find it's the next best thing to installing the full UVNC Server. Don't use VNC Single Click any longer for Win7 purposes.
This is a not a big deal, I'll admit it, but I'm looking for a perfection that likely doesn't exist.
As the Viewer, when I request that Chunk be installed as a service I then interface with UAC's prompt and am then disconnected. I'm about to bring up the Viewer once more to reconnect but notice that the Chunk server machine has offered up a security prompt to the user. That's the only time during the support session that I need the remote client to respond for me.
Is there any way that this one prompt can be avoided?
I'm expecting you to say "No" but I have to be sure I'm not missing anything.
Thanks for a great product ... Sam

A quickie regarding UAC
Re: A quickie regarding UAC
I think someone did post a workaround here but I don't recall the specific thread. You might want to PM supercoe.
Re: A quickie regarding UAC
Thank you, super-mod. I'll try to reach him. If there's a workaround I'll come back here and post it.

I'm a slow learner. Meant to call you "B". I'm slow but not totally stupid
Re: A quickie regarding UAC
No problem; it's kind of funny.
I did a quick search and someone did a whole "mod" of ChunkVNC that might fit your bill. I've never tried it though.

Re: A quickie regarding UAC
Although it's technically possible to initiate the install as a service command while also passing credentials it just doesn't work for most users.
Without knowing the username/password combo to an administrative account (since most users don't have a password or have admin disabled) your only option is to have the user click the UAC prompt.
To my knowledge you can't bypass UAC unless you have an administrative account with a password on the machine.
When the users being supported are part of a domain and you know the admin password this is all fine and dandy but it sadly doesn't work for all configurations.

Re: A quickie regarding UAC
Supercoe, I hear you. I knew this might be a pipe-dream but I did need to pursue this in your forum. Like I said earlier it's not a biggie and I can happily live with this issue.
