CHUNK VNC

Post by Zwakele »

Can CHUNK VNC work on LAN only without internet access?
How do I configure it for LAN connections only, the simplest way?

Yes.

Just install it according to directions, including running a repeater somewhere in your LAN.

(Second Chunk post I've had to move to Chunk forum today; getting some real traction out there.)

Then you can't use ChunkVNC. One or two repeaters are included in the Chunk package. As the directions make clear, you can run that repeater anywhere, including on the viewer or server in your VNC setup. There's no reason you can't run a repeater somewhere on your LAN.

On the other hand, there's no real reason you'd NEED a repeater if all the connections are within a LAN, so you might look at SCPrompt or regular UltraVNC setups instead.
